Extract the archive
tar xf 2016.3-<board>-release.tar.xz

Release Git Tags

The Xilinx Git repositories, U-Boot and Linux, are tagged for the release with a tag of xilinx-v2016.3

FSBL
The First Stage Boot Loader (FSBL) used to generate the boot.bin file is based on the 2016.3 release of the Xilinx tools.

U-Boot
The release is based on U-Boot 2016.07 created from the xilinx-v2016.3 tag.

Linux
The release is based on a 4.6 Linux kernel created from the xilinx-v2016.3 tag.

To boot this release from SD card :
1) extract the archive and copy BOOT.BIN, Image and system.dtb to the boot partition of SD card
2) extract zcu102-zynqmp.cpio to the root partition of SD card (use cpio -i < zcu102-zynqmp.cpio)
